Are you thinking of streaming and content creation but want some info and guidance on how others started?
In this article I have included a few summary's of how our sponsored content creators started. We go over what equipment they used right out the gate vs what they have now. You will also find links to their stream/equipment to see what they are doing now to help you get ideas and future plans!
First up is Panduhdon who streams on Twitch. Panduh started streaming in October 2020 with only a PS4, Turtle Beach headphones and a PS4 camera. Between then and now Panduhdon has increased the production quality with a custom built PC made by Allegiant Gaming, Logitech C920, HyperX headphones and a HyperX Microphone. One piece of advise from Panduhdon himself: Just do it. Put yourself out there. What's the worst that can happen? If it's not for you, continue gaming. If you like it, you will find an amazing community that will support you and help you along the way.
KosmicKait started out streaming on twitch super sporadically while she was a college student and wanting to connect with more people in gaming. At that time, she had become an avid stream watcher, and decided to give it a go. Kait had her laptop that really couldn't run much and was only suited for school-work, but it ran League of Legends and OBS; enough to make something decent. It took a good year or so before she bought her first PC and blue yeti mic. As a young adult aspiring to work in the gaming industry (which has now become a reality) she was purchasing bits and pieces for a dream setup over the years. Her setup today, more than 6 years later, still includes pieces from her original battle station! One piece of advice from Kait herself: It's perfectly OKAY to take it one step at a time. Your biggest and best part of the setup is YOU.
Majin2UU started streaming back in 2017 and played Fortnite during season 1. It was mainly just his hobby since he spent so much time on a PS4. His friends egged him on and asked "why not create content with this?", but didn't give it much thought until call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone came out. This is what gave him that little push.
His equipment was just a PS4, Astro A40s and an old laptop. He streams on Twitch with a duel PC setup (one for streaming and the other for gaming), Sony a5100(discontinued) Logictech c920, GoXLR, and a Shure Mv7 mic. One piece of advise from Majin himself: Don't left 1 hour ruin the other 23.
We also work with WhosVron aka Vron who streams on twitch as well. Vron is originally from New Hampshire where she started gaming around the age of 10 on an old Dell computer. She started getting interested in the idea of streaming at the age of 16 and wanted to try it out. After saving some money she eventually got herself a gaming PC - this is where it really took off. She now uses an Artcits 7 wireless headset with a AT2020 microphone and a scarlet 2i2 XLR audio interface.
Conclusion
You don't need expensive equipment to get started. Start with what you have and expand from there. Try not to be intimidated by the larger streamers, it took them years to get where they are at now. And remember, everyone has to start somewhere. We are here to help you!
